La Placita update -- Morning Call article

La Placita (12th/Turner in Allentown) has been fully restored after a fire. Jeanne Bonner's article in today's Morning Call features an interview the owners about their recent ordeal, plus delves into the history of this downtown, family-owned eatery. La Placita is one of the most authentic Mexican restaurants in the entire Lehigh Valley. I'm glad it's back -- and I know I'm not the only one. (Thanks, Jeanne, for bringing us this story.)

Wow what a great find! My wife (a vegetarian) and I visit Mexico regularly and love the everyday foods there. I look forward to our first visit to La Placita!

i live 3 blocks from La Placita. not only is it the best mexican restaurant--it's the best restaurant in the lehigh valley for my money and taste buds. i highly recommend the burrito and the tortas (sandwiches). anything with the goat(bbq) or chorizo is best. also, their shrimp soup is amazing. i'm never able to pass up the glass bottles of mexican coca cola either (pure cane sugar). absolutely love this place. the sweetest people there too.

I forgot to mention that we have a friend who spent the first half of his life in Mexico. He and his family visit La Placita often. How's that for an endorsement?

simply amazing food, that's all there is too it. if you love cilantro as much as me, you'll be a fan. I am from the Lehigh Valley but now live in Boston and I made a point of going back to La Placita for lunch recently.
