Thai in Bethlehem?

Signs that read "Coming soon: The best Thai restaurant" appear in the front windows of what used to be the downtown Bethlehem office of the Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce on Main Street. That would be a nice addition to a slowly but continually expanding restaurant scene downtown. I'll ask around in the coming weeks to see what I can learn.

There's also Phenom on Northampton St. in Easton - right near the free bridge. Good Thai and nice decor.

Phenom was good....until my wife found glass in her spring roll. Needless to say, we don't go back anymore. Touch of Thai in Easton is better, though the owner wasn't doing so well the last time I say him. The Thai Kitchen on Bethlehem's Southside has never impressed me and their prices are ridiculous. I am excited to see a new place on Main. It should fit in well with Pangaea, Serpico, and Hempzel (the home of the Hemp pretzel?)

I should update this comment.....Hempzel was just in for Musikfest

I've heard several people talk positively about Phenom, Robin's comment notwithstanding. I'll give it a go next time I'm in Easton, but will watch my bites. Thai Kitchen is acceptable, yet nothing great. Hope this downtown place has more to offer.

Phenom is incredibly inconsistent, I don't even bother anymore. Touch of Thai, however, on 2nd street is interesting and always delicious.

Nothing can beat Kow Thai in Allentown (12th and Linden) for quality and value. Take-out only.

There's a really good Thai restaurant newly opened this December at 500 Main St. Bethlehem downtown.

Thai Thai II restaurant. Food is delicious and the servings are plentiful. The interior is clean and crisp. Avoid peak hours because this place is packed.
