Coming soon to Broad Street , Bethlehem: Hello Burrito

Looks like work is progressing quickly on Hello Burrito on Broad Street between Main and New streets. Based on what I read on its Facebook page, the restaurant commissioned local artists to decorate the tables. There's a menu posted on the restaurant's website. The gang here at Spark is anxiously awaiting the chance to power down a southwest, thai, mango or Asian sesame burrito. From the looks of it, I'm guessing two weeks until opening. (The photo to the right was taken weeks ago. The Hello Burrito signage is already on the facade above the front entrance.)

really hoping this is successful as that storefront has been off and on vacant for years. Unfortunately I am a little worried about how much money they are throwing at the place for what is really an eat and run burrito place. It is a huge storefront with what must be a substantial overhead. Cali Burrito does that same thing in a space thats practically the size of a closet in a location that gives them direct access to a significant University market. I am still pulling for them.

I hope so, too. If the Moravian and Lehigh students can make it in, that will help. Lehigh students still come to Johnny's even though there's a location in Campus Square. Subway 1/2 block away does a brisk business. The contents of the burritos (namely rice and beans) are relatively cheap. I'm sure my Spark colleagues will do their best to keep it open.

First impressions:
Burritos are big and tastefull... We tasted buffalo, southwest and vegi. All were moderately spiced but tasteful. I am not great with Broccoli and actually missed the great taste of the collard greens in the vegi burrito (as in Tulum), but I am happy to get more choices -
Very friendly staff!
Good Luck!

Any word on what is going in the former MCall office on Main Street in Bethlehem. All I have seen is an liquor permit and what looks like a semi-nude poster of a woman selling vodka plastered to the front window

I heard something about a cigar bar at one time in the former Morning Call Bethlehem bureau office. (Circa 1995?) Will advise if I hear more.

Hello Everyone - thank you for your interest in Hello Burrito. We are working hard to create happy customers. I was wondering if anyone has any opinions about 1) delivery...we do not yet offer it but are considering it 2)loyalty programs...we plan to offer something similar to the subway program. If you've been to Hello Burrito, I hope you enjoyed it! If you haven't, I hope to see you soon!
